Pastures of the Blue Crane Special Screening (CTC)

Pastures of the Blue Crane Special Screening movie poster

Based on the award-winning young adults 1964 novel by Hesba Fay Brinsmead this groundbreaking 5 part ABC television adaptation has not been seen since its original broadcast in 1969. Starring Jeanie Drynan and Harold Hopkins it evokes the sub-tropical  luxuriance of its Tweed Valley locations and illuminates the then little discussed history of imported Islander labour to plantations of northern NSW and Qld.

Event includes afternoon tea and a Q&A with its director, Tom Jeffrey and David Stratton.

B&W. Two and a half hours plus breaks, afternoon tea and Q&A.
